Hi, I like help, if there is any out there in my line of Clearwater. My brother did some research back in his college days and I think he came across information that we are descended from Native Americans. He said that we are Lakota Sioux. I have been working on our tree and know nothing about this side of our family. My biological father, George Franklin Clearwater Jr and our mother divorced when I was two. I will provide what I know or have come across and suspect is correct. Any help is greatly appreciated.
Biological father: George Franklin Clearwater, bn 1949. Sibling: Trudy.
Son of: George Franklin Clearwater, bn 1917-1989. Married Joan Botke. Siblings: Louis Earl, 1920-1999 & Minnie Mae, 1916-1994.
Children of: James Clearwater (probably William James Clearwater). Married to Grace (probably Grace Marie Reaska).
In the 1920 census this family was living in Roberts, IL. However, by the 1930 census George Franklin & his siblings are showing in the Illinois Soldier's Orphans Home as orphans.
I am stumped at this point.
Thank you for any help,
Dawn Clearwater Stubbs
