Well, it's time for my annual post to the list.I am looking for descendants of the parents and family of Charles Clear, born c. 1840, in Canada (St. Catherine's?????) His parents, names unknown, were also born in Canada.by 1859 he had traveled to Columbia, TENNESSEE where he married my ancestor Amanda HODGE. A few years after the Civil war he and the family (4 or 5 children) moved up to St. Louis, Mo. They both died in the 1920s. He was not in the Civil War.It is said that he was a traveling musician up until the time he married my g-g-grandmother
Hodge. In St. Louis he was a salesman for a stove company.
Is anyone looking for Charles Clear from Canada??
Thanks, Alex in Missouri
