Hi. I just read your post. There are two Jacob Clear's that are prominent in the CLEAR family history. One left Wisconsin just as the Revolutionary War broke, and the family moved to Minnesota. The 'other' Jacob Hell descendants eventually moved west and settled in Oregon. If you have any questions I can help answer, would like to hear from you. I am using a computer at LDS Family history center. Please contact me off line at jrclear(a)gmail.com.

Hi. Just read your post regarding Elihu Clear, killed in the battle of the Big Horn. I believe that Elihu is a descendant. My last name is Clear and the ancestral name is HELL. I would interested in comparing and sharing information with you. I would be interested in your source that explains the name change from HELL. I am using a computer at LDS Family History Library. Please contact me offline at jrclear(a)gmail.com. Look forward to hearing from you.
