Thanks, Grace. Yes it does help to have you verify that Cornelius Clear who married Mary Root is the son of Jacob Hell. Now we just need to see if there is a connection between my Sarah Clear Winebrenner and the Cornelius above. My hope and suspicion is that they are siblings. I wondered, do you know where Jacob was born? What state, that is. Also, do you know Jacob's wife's name and her birthplace?
Oh, and thanks for the lead to the West Alexandria Public Library. I know I haven't looked there for any information.
God Bless You!
Katy

Have you checked with West Alexandria Public Library. Audrey Gilbert has quite a file on the Clear Family in the Area.
Some moved across the line into Randolph co Indiana.Even some of them are buried in Nashville Cemetery in Darke co.
Jacob Hell changed his name to Jacob Clear. From my notes, his son Cornelius was born in 1821. His wife's name was Mary born in 1824. In 1850 they were living in Wayne Twp, Randolph co IN. He died in 1867(Probate Court of Randolph Co, Book 8 p 291) Cornelius mar Mary Root 2 April 1840 in Randolph co IN. Children included: Abraham b 1841, Sophia b 1842, David b 1845, John b 1848 & Mary Ann b 1831. This comes from Alveria Dunn research found at the West Alexandria OH Library. Does this add to the problem or does it clarify some? Grace
