Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb
I found this on Britannica Online:
Spencer, John Charles Spencer, 3rd Earl
also called (until 1834) VISCOUNT ALTHORP (b. May 30, 1782, London--d. Oct.
1, 1845, near Clayworth, Nottinghamshire, Eng.), statesman, leader of the
British House of Commons and chancellor of the Exchequer from 1830 to 1834;
he greatly aided Lord John Russell (afterward 1st Earl Russell), . . .

Hi Everyone
Just found this on the net and thought you might be interested:
"University of St Andrews

Dr Anya Clayworth did her Ph.D. at the University of Birmingham on Oscar
Wilde's career as a professional journalist. Some of the research for her
thesis has appeared in scholarly journals in USA and Anya was awarded the
Van Arsdel Prize for her work on Wilde and Victorian periodicals in 1996.
She is currently writing her thesis up into a more general book about Oscar
Wilde's early writing career and working on a new research project on
nineteenth-century plagiarism.
Anya's work at the University of Birmingham included teaching Literature
1840-1900 and 1900 - present. She also organised and taught private

Hi Everyone,
Gee, I've been busy but wanted to touch base with you all.
To Eleanor:
Eleanor regarding your RENSHAW name. I have just received a letter from
Jack today that he has a William born in Rauceby, Lincs. in 1795 to a John
CLAYWORTH and Hannah RENSHAW of Farndon, Newark. As you know Rosamund
BUTLER was born in Farndon and she married a William CLAYWORTH. If your
RENSHAW's connect to this CLAYWORTH line then the William CLAYWORTH born to
John CLAYWORTH and Alice HARDY in 1801 in Newark is not the one and I need
to rearrange my tree again!!!
This is confusing as Mary Louise states that your William died at the age
of 82 in 1882 which would make it 1800/01 not 1795 but then no-one knew
anyones correct age in those days and Mary Louise did type in 1795 as
William's birth on the FGS so I guess we're back to the drawing board
again.
I'll call Mary and let her know.
To EVERYONE:
Did you receive the new Clayworth directory from Jack? He's doing a great
job isn't it?
Jack has sent me on disk all the Clayworth b-m-d's in the GRO from 1837 to
1985 now so I will redo the website and add the new ones to it and let you
know when it is ready OK?
I will be putting up photos of Clayworth's too just as soon as I can if you
have any you would like to put on the website you can either scan them and
send them to me or make copies and send them to me to scan. DO NOT send
your originals to me unless you don't mind them getting lost in the mail.
;-)
Anyway, must go I have two kids sick with the flu, the rest of us have just
got over it and so I'm busy playing nurse today.
Take care
Jayne
