Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb
Wishing everyone a Happy New Year and hope that all of you have a great one
in the last year of this century. Talk about history in the making, eh?
As I write this our friends in Australia, China, Hong Kong and New Zealand
would have already welcomed in the New Year and in just a few hours our
friends in Europe will do the same. As for us Canadians, Americans and
Mexicans we still have 6 1/2 hours to go yet.
Have a good one, everyone and I'll see ya next year.

I was just checking out the net (haven't done this in a while) and came
across a site that gives the real name of Jack Duckworth of Coronation
Street fame, look at this:
William Tarmey
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
----
Real name: William Cleworth Piddington
Born: 4 April 1941, Ardwick, Manchester, Lancashire
Married: Alma
Children: Carl, Sara
Contact: c/o Granada Television
I thought this was interesting considering somewhere down the line the
Clayworth name was sometimes spelled Cleworth. Could his mother have been a
Cleworth? Be interesting if we could ask him, eh? I met Bill Tarmey in
Toronto about 6 years ago pity I didn't know this then.
Got to go,
Take care
Jayne
Hi Everyone,
Just a note to let you know that the GenConnect board for the Clayworth
surname is almost ready to go. Once I have read up on all the ins and outs
and I will try to explain it to you, OK? <grin>
Take care

Hi Everyone,
I was wondering if anyone would be interested in helping me set up a Surname
board trhough Rootsweb? One has to be a Rootsweb sponsor, which I am, but
it would help me if some of you could help too.
I am going to request a board for our surname as it is on a first come first
served basis but like you I am totally new to this and so I guess it will be
take some trial and error to get it right. Rootsweb believe that having
such a board would compliment our mailing list and I tend to agree.
Please visit the following url:
Surname index: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/indx/FamAssoc.html
and tell me what you think, OK?
Take care
Jayne
