My Great-Great Grandfather, David Clayton was born in Wilmington, DE in 1841. His father was John Clayton & his mother was Margaret. (no birth dates on birth places)
David married Ellen (Ella) Marshall in 1873 in Camden, New Jersey. They had the following children
:
Hamilton Clayton
William P. Clayton - 1879
David Clayton - 1882
Harry H. Clayton - 1888
Charles (Carles) Clayton - 1888
Thomas Clayton - 1890 (my Grandfather) - Charlestown, MD
Della Clayton - 1893
I am planning a Clayton Family Reunion and would like to know if there are any Clayton ancestors related to this line
would be interested in attending. I also would really like to find information on John & Margaret Clayton who lived in Wilmington.
My Grandfather Thomas Seany Clayton, married Anna Jackson -Charlestown, MD
Any an all information would be appreciated. If you would like to be part of the Reunion, let me know. It is just in the planning stage.

Hello Julia,
Thanks what you wrote :
William and Margaret (Cholmley) Clayton also had a son William born about
1594 had no other information. He would have been of the right age in 1620
to have gone to The Netherlands, so this could be a possibility for your

Since I am female, I could not test. I asked my brother to test for me. I went to FamilyTree DNA.com and signed up. I had them send a kit to my brother so he could test. I joined the Clayton Family Group......if you join a Family Group the test is a little less expensive. I had my brother tested for the 67 marker test. We also did the Family Finder test. We are having fun seeing who we match. It has been quite an adventure so far. Recently I upgraded his Y-DNA test to the 101 test.....it is something new. I also had the mtdna test done to follow our mother's line. The FTDNA site has lots of information on the tests. Also, if you call them with questions they are very helpful.
Good luck! I hope you have someone test!!!
