Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb
I am hoping that someone on this list is a descendant of Elisha Clayton
of Monongalia and Marion Counties in Vriginia, now West Virginia,
or knows how I can contact one of his descendants interested
in this Clayton family's history.
I am trying to track down the original information on the death of
Little Clayton,
son of Elisha and Elizabeth Little Clayton, that was printed in James
E. Bellarts'
1991 book _ The Descent of Some of Our Quaker Ancestors_, p88,
supposedly a note from a Quaker 1895 Morgantown Monthly Meeting minute.
The trouble I am finding is that there was no Monthly Meeting in that
area in 1895.
Very knowledgeable members of the Rootsweb Quaker Roots mail list think that
the "minute" is more likely to be an obituary from a local newspaper,
since it is not written in the usual form of Monthly Meeting minutes.
If anyone has seen this information and knows anything more definite
about its source, I will greatly appreciate hearing from you.

Folks -
If you want to go to the "reunion" site, you should click on the links
provided... but the people sending this stuff don't know you. They are
just sending their hook out to the whole Clayton list and trying to get
you to go to their web site and buy their product. A big clue that this
person doesn't know you from a whole in the ground ought to be the homey
tone (looking for YOU...want to keep in touch) yet they didn't 1) know
your name, or 2) know your personal e-mail address.
