Hello Listers,
I live in Wollongong New South Wales Australia and presently undertaking research on some residents mainly post war immigrants.
I am tracing a particular family who arrived per S S Asturias in 1951, departing Southampton in March of that year.
I know that Joseph Samuel Clayton was born in 1913 in England (which County I do not know). Arriving with him was his wife Anna Erwina also born 1913, daughter Josephine born 1939 and son Reginald born 1943.
The family lived in Cringila for some years. By 1965 Joseph Samuel was living in England. His daughter Josephine was then married and her surname was Barrett, she was also living in England. Both father and daughter would have returned back to England between October 1956 and January 1965.
Can anyone assist with information on the family after Joseph and Josephine arrived back in Geat Britian.
As Joseph Clayton was a returned serviceman does anyone have any records on his service in WWII and if he is still living as he would be about 95 years old now.I would appreciate any information on him or his burial date and cemetery if he is deceased.
As Josephine Barrett (nee Clayton) would be 69 years old today. Is there any Clayton family member who has information on her or if you know which newspaper district it would be best to place a letter to her.
Any assistance you could offer would be appreciated.
Thank you in advance.
Carol
