Records show a Jane Clayton marrying a William Hart (in Pennsylvania) in
the 1750's. Some Clayton trees I've seen show this marriage but none
show what happened to them.
My brickwall is William Hart, b 1717, and Jane (LNU) married in the mid
to late 1750's. By 1760, they were living just north of Hancock, MD, in
what became Bedford Co, PA, then later becoming Fulton Co, PA.
Can anyone help me confirm my William and Jane to the William Hart and
Jane Clayton shown in Clayton records. Thanks, Mike Thorne

"I have a Joseph A. Clayton (1817-1885), married in Spartanburg, SC to Sarah
"Jennie" Pettit. They appear on the Cass Co. GA census of 1850 and moved to
Etowah CO Alabama around 1860.
Joseph is my GGGF. Sending this in hopes of a tie-in.
Regards,
Jim Clayton
I wish I could tie into these, to my Clayton side. Mine were earlier in
Georgia.
The earliest CLAYTON I have is a Moses Clayton who was in Georgia. This was
in the Mid to Late 1700's.
One of his children was Jesse Lamb Clayton. Lamb was his mothers maiden
name.

Hello,
I just joined this list, because I am looking for information on the marriage and children of a Martha Clayton in Chester County, PA. This Martha would have been born about 1754 and married about 1774 to a Richard Woodward.
I realize this list covers CLAYTONs in all locations, so I won't enter any more detail at this time.
If anyone has CLAYTONs from Chester County, PA in their files in the above time frame, please let me know.
