It won't hurt to give her a message.

Don, I do not know What you know about William H and His first wife,
Ameilia Jack.(d.6/21/1856) In the Cobb Co. GA Library in
Marietta I found the reference book: Alabama Bible Records,
edited by Jeanette H. Austin. From the Sampson Clayton Bible It
lists W. H. Clayton as the 4th son of Sampson Clayton (b. 8/1/1803
)& first wife Elisabeth Drain (b. 1813 ) married 7/20/1823.
Elisabeth Drain died10/8/1832 and Sampson married Elisabeth Hill1/20/1833.
We believe that William H. was born in what is now DeKalb Co.
Ala. The 1830 census lists Sampson living in what was then Jackson Co. Ala.
A few years ago we visited Alvarado, Tex and surrounding area
researching. We located grave of William H. & his second wife Martha
Ann Jack.(married 1/7/1858) . They are buried at Bethesda Baptist
Church in Burleson, TX. (Martha Ann was a double first cousin of Ameilia)
My grandfather was Horace Albert (aka Albert Horace) a younger son of
William H and Martha A.
Happy hunting,
Sarah

Good evening all,
Does anyone have WILLIAM HIX CLAYTON in their Clayton histories? I believe he was born 30 May 1830, in Granger Co., TN. He married Amelia Jack.
He had a son JAMES SAMPSON CLAYTON, b. 29 July 1850, perhaps in DeKalb Co., AL. He married Sarah Calista West.
James had a daughter, HATTIE CLOVIS CLAYTON, b. 14 Feb 1885, in Johnson Co., TX. She married William Henry Dye, Sr. Hattie was my grandmother.
I need William Hix Clayton's parents, grandparents, etc.
This is a real stumper........Thanks for any help.
