I am trying to locate Shirley Clayton, b. 1927-1928 and June Clayton b.
June 1929 in Newark, Essex Co., NJ. They later lived in Laurence Harbor,
Middlesex Co, near Monmouth Co.
Hopefully they are still alive. They are my husband's third cousins. I
do not know who or if they married.
They are the daughters of Harry Ward Clayton b. 1900, in Ocean Grove,
Monmouth Co, NJ, and Mary Wildt, b. 1903 in Newark, Essex Co, NJ. On the
1930 census I find them living in Newark, but by 1938 they had moved to
Laurence Harbor.
Their father Harry Clayton died in 1938 in a gasoline explosion at his
place of work, Raab Motors, in Irvington, where he was a mechanic.

SKS help please, in any way possible...
Charlotte Clyden, age 20, b.c. 1842, England; emigrated to Canada
shortly before December 2, 1862, her recorded marriage date; d/o Henry
and Mariah Clyden; no details as to origin available. Henry may have
been born about 1818 and Mariah may have been born about 1822 [LDS
dates], marrying around 1840. My grandfather's middle name was Claydon,
and her tombstone inscription says "Charlotte Claydon." A fresh English
accent to an older North American ear may have caused the Clyden to
sound like Claydon, and custom my have caused the "new" name to stick.
Many thanks in advance...Al
This is another one of those rare (but, regrettably,
increasingly necessary) warning posts regarding viruses

I don't know if this is your line or not but the Hoyt name does sound
familiar. I think I have seen this name in the Yellow Creek Cemetary. My
Aunt Mary didn't have any sisters, only brother that I know of.

Caleb P. Clayton
b. 1826, Pa. or Del.
d. ?
Lydia Jane Clayton (wife)
b. 1827, Pa. or Del.
d. ?
Clara P.Clayton (daughter)
b. 1861, Pa. or Del.
d. ? before 1900 ? (HUSBAND LOUIS A. MELLOR IS LIVING ALONE WITH
CHILDREN GEORGE, LILLIAN, NETTA, ROBERT AND CLARA IN THE 1900 CENSUS)
I don't know if Clara P. died or they divorced. There is a Louis A. Miller
and Helen married and living together in the 1920 census, I don't know if this
his the same person.
I believe the following are also children of Lydia and Caleb:
Racheel Clayton
b. 1852, d. ?
Frank Clayton
b. 1856, d. ?
Hannah Clayton
b. 1846, d. ?
Harry Clayton
b. 1850, d. ?
Reese P. Clayton
b. 1837, d. ?
I don't know what the relationship is for Reese, he could be Calebs brother.
I have no information as to the parentage of Lydia or Caleb, I haven't found
any death records for any of these people. ANY information on this family
would be greatly appreciated.
