Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb
Kathy, my Clayton was Sarah Clayton (1652?-1735) married to Matthew Borden.
I am interested in her because some sources state that she was born in
Swarthmore Hall, Lancashire, the place where Quakerism originated with
George and Margaret Fox. Some rootsweb sites have her ancestry traced back
through the Middle Ages to several signers of the Magna Charta.
I suspect that some of what is on ancestry/rootsweb in that regard is
bogus, but it would be good to know...
I recommend Hattie Weld's Borden Family, published in 1899; and perhaps you
can find your Borden line in her book. Matthew Borden (1638-1708) was the
first English baby born in RI, and my line later moved to Cecil Co., MD. In
Weld's book I find Marshall Thompson Borden born in TX in 1897 - the only
entry connecting the names Thompson and Borden, I think. Good searching.

Hello, Louis.
I was not able to open your attachment,
and the message I tried to send you at
lfmeek(a)aol.com
came back as undeliverable,
but I would be interested to know the location
where your Claytons and Bordens lived.
My father's Claytons were in Monmouth Co., NJ
at the time of the Revolution, and one of our Thompsons
in SW MS married a Borden in the early 1800's.
Thanks for your help.
