Once and for all!!!! Is this thing for real or not???
I'm getting tired and fed up with these so-called "teddy bear" or ink
blotches "viruses."
So is it real or fake???
Tim
Really....I just found out that I got this virus-which you probably have now
too. I successfully deleted it by following these directions:
(from pbregman(a)bregmancorp.com)
Forward this message to everyone in your address book, they too have been
infected.
Make sure you blind carbon copy this message to all the people in your
address book, so that no one in your address book can use your message to
find the e-mail of someone else.
The virus is NOT detected by Norton or McAfee anti-virus systems. The virus
sits quietly for 14 days before damaging the system. It is sent automatically
by messenger and by the address book, whether or not you sent e-mails to your
contacts.
1. Go to Start, Find or Search option
2. In the file/folders option search for jdbgmgr.exe
3. Be sure to search your C: drive and all sub-folders and any other drives
4. Click find now
5. The Virus has a teddy bear icon with the name jdbgmgr.exe DO NOT OPEN
IT!!!!
6. Highlight the file without opening it
7. Now go to File on the menu bar and select delete. It will then go to the
recycle bin
8. Go to the recycle bin and delete it there as well. IF YOU FIND THE VIRUS,
YOU MUST CONTACT ALL THE PEOPLE IN YOUR ADDRESS BOOK, SO THAT THEY CAN
ERADICATE IT FROM THEIR OWN ADDRESS BOOKS.
I would never delete a file coming through email. I have this same old
game played time and again. I have actually had some people tell me
they fell for this hoax and lost some files. There is an old saying,
"Believe nothing you hear and only half of what you see."
This was my first experience on the Clayton line. I hope this is not
what the future holds for this web site.
I am looking for Claytons that lived in Oklahoma.

Myrtle Spradling was born 1889 in Mississippi. She was the daughter of
Vette Finley and Wm. Spradling. She married Arthur M. Clayton. Her

would so like to meet some of her children or grandchildren because her

I just got a recommendation on the TXBASTRO List for a 10 minute animated (audio narration) US Map that is somewhat interactive. It provides a really outstanding overview of the Growth of our Nation. If you want to give it a try, the link is http://www.animatedatlas.com/movie.html .
If you're like me, it's nice to occasionally be able to quickly step back and remind myself of the big picture for my genealogy work in the US. And I think site this does that extremely well in a short period of time.

I am looking for any information on a Coleman Clayton, married to Nancy ??
They had a daughter Elizabeth Ann, b. 1826, d. September 28, 1855, Pendleton County KY.
Elizabeth Ann was married to George FOGLE, they had the following children: Robert, William and Elizabeth.
Any information on this line of CLAYTONS would be appreciated.

Hi Qwen and Nancy
These Claytons look to be the line mine are from but I can't prove it.
My John H. Clayton first shows up in KY ca 1877. His son Francis Huell
Clayton was born in Lexington, Fayette, Kentucky in 1803 and married
Elizabeth Bourland in 1825 in Calloway KY. and moved on to IL after the
war where they lost everything. I think they were fence sitters and
didn't side with the North or the South.
The names Lucy, Jesse, Martha Jane, Melissa, etc. are common to mine but
like I say, this is all the proof I have.
Hope someday to connect.

First of all -- Happy 2003 to all the CLAYTON folks!
It would be really neat to find the connection --
With all these CLAYTONs moving into South Carolina about the same time
(late 1700s & early 1800s), from Virginia, one would think there must be
some connection, even if it starts from a generation or more - from
years back.

I didn't realize how elusive this publication was. The copy I found was a
microfilm at the National Library of Australia (which happens to be just
down the road.)
Here are the details from the NLA's online catalogue:

>(July 1894) pt. numbering introduced. Reels 18-32. From 1893 has
>monographic supplements some consisting of Parish registers.

>Rare printed sources for genealogical research.
I was surprised to discover that I could not find this periodical in the CD
version of the LDS Family History Library Catalog.
The article in question is
R. Stewart-Brown, "The Pedigree of the Claytons of Crooke, Fulwood and
Adlington, in the County of Lancaster" in The Genealogist, n.s. vol. 26
(1909-10) pp. 129-142.
Research of Mary J. and Matthew Hilt Murphy has connected this family with
the Claytons who settled in Monmouth Co., N. J. in the 1600's. The family
is not connected with that of William Clayton of Chichester, Sussex, whose
descendants settled across the river in Pennsylvania.

Sorry, but my maternal line of Claytons tends to coalesce in and around the
central region of the Dominion State. They have lived there almost 200 yrs
thru the late 1970's. However, I have a gr gr aunt who died in 1988 whose
maiden name was Buck. Hope that helps someone out there with any

Hi Elizabeth,
I too have John Beals, Mary Clayton and Sarah Edge in my tree. I descend
through Honour Clayton. I can't find a Thomas Bowater currently in my
tree, but it may be because I am in the process of reentering my tree
into a new program after my last one became corrupted...UGH! I also have
a Jane Paxson, Jacob Jehu PickerING, and a Williams (but she- Williams-
is married in to the line so I don't know anything on her). I have seen
the variance in Prudence's last name as well, I have it as Mickel with a
son of her's with a middle name as Mickel too.
Please contact me, I would love to compare notes.

Hello CLAYTON folks:
I'm searching for info about the Jesse CLAYTON line (see below).
First, did Jesse CLAYTON (b. ca 1720-1740?) live in Virginia?
Second, is he related to the following CLAYTON line of Virginia?
1 -- John Clayton (1680-1759)
m. Elizabeth ___________? (1680-1756)
2 -- George Clayton (1718 - ___?)
m. Nancy _____________? (1718-1775)
3 -- Charles Clayton (1743- abt1800)
m. Nancy Love (1750 - _____?)
4 -- Charles Collier Clayton (1781-1862)
m. Nancy Toney (1780-1855)
My interest in the lines is on both sides of my family tree:
William Wilson CLAYTON married my GGG Aunt McCAY on my mother's side,
and lived in Pickens County SC (the old Pendleton District)
Charles Collier CLAYTON is on my father's side, and he lived in Pickens
County, SC the SAME TIME as the Jesse CLAYTON line. Are the two lines
related?
Trying to connect the lines - maybe they were the same CLAYTONs?
Thanks,
Nancy :-)
