I would like to correspond with anyone who may have any info on my greatgrandfather, David Washington Clayton (nicknamed: King). He was born in North Carolina in 1869 and the sketchy story that I've heard about his death was that he was a flagman for a railroad (Southern Railway? Atlantic & Danville Railway?) and was killed in a railroad accident on May 2, 1899 in Danville, VA. He was married to Laura (nicknamed Lula) Pittman Clayton and they had one son, David Washington Clayton. They lived in Danville til his death, then Lula came back to Atlanta, GA to live. I would like to find out what really happened to my ggrandfather and also where he is buried. No one in the family knows where he is buried. I have other info on him if you need it, but anythiing anyone has to provide will most certainly be appreciated! THANK YOU!
Martha Clayton Clement
Hi, everyone.
I'm seeking any info, and a connect, on an Esther Clayton. All I know about
her is that she was married to a William Harry ca. 1700 and the mother of
an Amos Harry.
Does this sketchy data ring a bell anywhere.
Thanks in advance for any assist.
Gary James

hope it will work for you this time. And no, Almina's brother was Thomas
Brooke Clayton.

Hi
I have two Thomas Claytons in my database
1. Thomas CLAYTON Bap 28 April 1784 in Kirtling who married Mary WARREN
2. Thomas CLAYTON Bap 7 Aug 1825 (no other details)
I have some problems because of the changing spelling of the name. Current
family members spell the name CLAYDON because the family member that
emigrated to this country spelt it that way. It would seem that his father
also spelt it the same way but earlier generations would apparently have
spelt it with the T, There is also a Claiden spelling!! I am aware of
all the reasons why names have changed spelling.

My greatgrandmother was Almina Indiana CLAYTON.. her father was Daniel Wilson
CLAYTON..
she had several brothers.. one of which was a Thomas CLAYTON...
my webpage is....http://www.parsonstech.com/genealogy/trees/lmelvin/lisatm.htm
I'll be the first to admit that there are probably errors there.. be happy to
hear others opinions on my information.
Lisa
I have a couple of Thomas Claytons in my line. You didn't say when your
Thomas was born.
You can try my webpage at www.mcs.net/~desoto
Good Luck.
Let me know if we're related.

Hi Listers
I have just subscribed to this list and I want to confirm that this list
covers all the spelling variations of Clayton, Claydon, Claiden, Claiten, etc.
The family that I am interested came from Wood Ditton in Cambridgeshire.
Is there anybody else researching this family which lived in this area over
a number of generations?
Thank you.
