I am searching for information on Anne Buchanan, b. abt. 1794, m. Clayton
before 1818, who was daughter of James Buchanan and his wife, Mary
Elizabeth. She is listed in James Buchanan's will which was recorded on 7

marriage as yet in KY and it is believed they lived perhaps in VA or IN.
James Buchanan was living in Jefferson Co KY in 1800 before moving to Henry

I find this very interesting as I am also on the Moore List and they too are
discussing the name Francis Marion Moore
One of the things mentioned there is that some people were named after famille
people like George Washing and others after relation
Francis Marion Moore the "Swamp Fox" One grope said he was excessively SC
while others say he was also in Virginia
I am don't think I have any Frances Marion's in either family but would be
interested if any of you have Moore's connected to your Clayton?
since you are all researching the same first & middle name you might want to
post a quire to the Moore list asking if any of you happen to be in related
familles
It is also a Rootsweb list so just substitute the Moore in place of the
Clayton I am going to send this message to that list but put in Clayton in
place of the Moore
It would be nice if some connections are found
Good Luck

Hi all,
I am looking for any information regarding:
Joseph and wife, Hannah(?) Clayton.
Both were 81 years old on the 1860 census of Marion Co., Ar.
I do not know where they were from prior to that date, nor
do I know what happened to them after that date.
Their daughter, Cynthia A. Clayton b. 1811-1816 Ky., married
Ishner"Henry" Lowery about 1831, place unknown.
Ishner and Cynthia were the parents of 10 children,
George W. Lowery b. abt 1832 Rhea Co.,Tn.
Mary Ann Lowery b. abt 1833 Rhea Co.,Tn.
Hannah J. Lowery b. abt 1835 Rhea Co.,Tn.
William Clayton Lowery b. Aug. 1, 1837 Clairborne Co.,Tn.(my 3rd ggf)
Louise A. Lowery b. abt 1841 Tn.
Joseph A. Lowery b. abt 1843 Tn.
Sarah C. Lowery b. abt 1844 Tn.
Margaret M.Lowery b. abt 1847 Tn.
Isham R. Lowery b. abt 1851 Tn.
James A. Lowery b. abt 1854 Tn.
I have been, as we all get, at the end of the trail at finding
anything about Joseph and Hannah Clayton.
I do appreciate any help.
Thanks,
Betty
My Clayton interests are as follows.
Newark. Nottinghamshire, 1800-1900, and Sheffield , Yorkshire, 1850-present.
Any information welcome. You can E-Mail me at
<nataly(a)ozemail.com,au> Albert Preston.
lets see, time frame would be about early, mid to late 1800's. Thompson
Marion Clayton had a son in 1872. He was no the youngest. I assumed that the
father would have been born anywhere from 1845-1852. You just never know. I
know he is buried in Texas. Around the Sulpher Springs Area. I don't know
where they were in AL. Only that they were there after Thompson was born. He
married a woman from AL named Katy Shelton.

I have a ggg-grandfather who had a brother named
Francis Marion Clayton. There are several descendants
of uncles/nephews who are named Francis M. Clayton, so
the logical conclusion might be that they are named
Marion as well. What time frames do you have for
your Marion? The Claytons that I'm linked to are from
Cullman County area.

Do you have anything on a Thomas or Marion Clayton. He is the father of
A.Aaron Clayton who was my great grandfather. They were in Alabama before
going to Arkansas then Texas.

Kellye,
I don't know where Thomas CLAYTON lived/died. His brother, John Henry, born
1816 in Sullivan Co, NY, moved to Polk Co, IA.

Yes, there are at least 4 Solomon Claytons in and around North Alabama area,
but I am still trying to sort them out. I have several Solomon's just in the
line I think I have a hold on, but more show up here and there all the time.
Most of the Claytons that I have were in Dekalb or Cherokee Co. Alabama before
some moved to Texas. I have yet to get any concrete info on where they came,
but I expect them to be with the multitude of Claytons in the Carolinas.
Keep in Touch, ~~Liz :)
