Saw your message to the List about Elizabeth Clayton and a marriage bond in
Isle of Wight County. Could Elizabeth have been a granddaughter or
gr-granddau to John Clayton who died about 1756 in Parish of Newport, Isle of
Wight County? He had sons George, William and John.
Could one of the above sons be your line?

I have some Claytons from Canada that migrated to Michigan, but
I haven't even started on this side of the family yet.
