LANCASTER: Howard Lee Claypool, age 81, of Lancaster, Ohio died September 26th, 2014 at Lanfair Nursing and Rehabilitation.
He was born on December 27th, 1932 to the late Clark and Prudence Jackson Claypool in Fairfield County, OH.
He served his country in the Army, retired from the U.S. Postal Service, and then worked for Claypool Electric.
He was a member of Grace United Church of Christ, the Men's Brotherhood of Grace United, and volunteered at FMC Hospital.
Howard enjoyed writing stories, loved tractors, his farm, and his family.
He will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Phyllis A. Claypool; grandchildren, Laura (BJ) Fahrer; Stacy (Michael) Mitchell; and Jesse (Stacy) Claypool; great grandchildren, Logan and Bas Fahrer, Brooke and Kara Mitchell, and Brianna and Ethan Claypool; brother, Donald (Juanita) Claypool; sister-in-law, Ruby Claypool; daughter-in-law, Carolyn (Ed) Peirano; In-laws, Margaret Muckensturm, Delores Vaughan, and Bill Lowry; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his son, Randall L. Claypool; sister, Dorothy Schieser; brother, Robert Claypool; in-laws, Warren and Jane Schieser and parents.
A service will take place on Tuesday, at Grace United Church of Christ at 10:30AM, officiated by Reverend Mindy Quellhorst.
A committal service will take place at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens following the service. Family and friends may visit on Monday at the FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME on Monday from 5 until 8PM and one hour prior to the service at the church.
Memorials can be made in Howard's name to Grace United Church, 1185 Pleasantville Rd, Lancaster, OH 43130.

ZANESVILLE: Gary Marks Claypool, 83 of Zanesville, Ohio died at 12:06am Saturday, September 13, 2014 at Emeritus at North Hills.
He was born on October 1, 1931 in Mt. Sterling Ohio (Muskingum County, Hopewell Twp.) the son of Phillip Alguire Claypool and Sylvia Jeannette (Redman) Claypool.
Gary was retired after 47 years at Brockway Owens of Illinois Glass as a supervisor and was a member of the Masonic Order - Lafayette Lodge #79.
He is survived by a daughter, Lucinda (Gary) Colley and grandson, Joshua (Ashley) Colley; four great grandchildren: Darian Colley, Brayden Colley, Madison Colley and Austen Colley; a sister, Glenna Jeannette Hill.
Gary was preceded in death in addition to his parents by his wife, Lena May (Watson) Claypool; a sister, Vivian Glorine Burns; and brother, Loren Eugene Claypool.
Visitation will be held from 5pm to 7pm on Monday, September 15, 2014 at the Bryan & Hardwick Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, September 16, 2014 at the Bryan & Hardwick Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Matzke officiating.
Burial will conclude at the Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery, 1475 Military Rd., Zanesville OH.
