Mary Jane (Lloyd) Claypool
LEXINGTON, OHIO: Mary Jane (Lloyd) Claypool, age 88, of Lexington, passed away Monday, May 16, 2011 in MedCentral Mansfield Hospital following a brief illness.
She was born December 4, 1922 in Aliquippa, PA, the daughter of Wilbur R. and Thella J. (Pearson) Lloyd and was graduated from Aliquippa High School in 1941.
On October 16, 1943 she married Donald W. Claypool who preceded her in death on June 21, 2004.
A Lexington, Ohio (Richland County) resident since 1959, Mary Jane was a member of Order Eastern Star Ruth Chapter #17 and served as Past Royal Matron Amaranth. She enjoyed bowling and golf, square dancing, and belonged to a bridge club.
Mary Jane is survived by her daughter Thella J. Boyce of Lexington; two sons and daughters-in-law Jeffrey C. and Karen Claypool of Greensboro, NC, and David L. and Herta Claypool of Gainsville, VA; grandchildren Amy Stover, Heather Somerlade, Kelley Pugliese, Scott Claypool, Bethany Claypool and Matthew Claypool, five great grandchildren, a brother Don Lloyd of Maryland, and Florida, and a special friend Betty McCammon of Lexington.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a beloved son-in-law Don Boyce, twin grandchildren Kevin and Kimberly Claypool, and two brothers Jack and Ross Lloyd.
Friends may call Thursday, May 19, 2011 from 2-3 pm in the Lexington Avenue Snyder Funeral Home where Ruth Chapter #17 Order of Eastern Star will hold a memorial service at 3 pm, with the funeral service immediately following. Pastor Jim Berry will officiate. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Memorial Park.
Memorial contributions to the Lexington Senior Civic Center may be made through the funeral home.
