OK, once and for all everyone - my years and years of research have now been proven 100% correct through DNA testing.
I have ALWAYS believed from the very beginning many years ago that the Clyburns (Clyburnes, Clayburns, Clabourns, Cleyburns, Cliburns, and other spellings) were all connected in Nova Scotia from the Revolutionary War period. I began a long journey in proving this.
I ran into a wonderful Clyburn researcher from back east about 5 years ago and her name is Angela Clyburn. She has researched this line her entire life and had never run into anyone who knew anything about the Canadian lines. Naturally we both hooked up and spent the last five years working together piecing it all together. 2 books were written in the interim. And yes, I was credited 100% for my additions to the books. These books are copyrighted and you can still purchase them.
The final piece came together just a couple months ago when I brought out some old research I had compiled many years ago. I was reading it over the phone to Angela and she screamed with excitement as it totally all came together with my information.
I received word today that the DNA test given to a male Clyburn descendent very recently has proven 100% that my hypothesis was correct. We now have our family lines back to the very earliest of times.
Thankfully a Clyburn male descendent was kind enough to participate in the DNA testing and we are so grateful.
I have not announced anything prior as we were waiting on the results of this testing to be 100% sure.
To all of you who have assisted in my research throughout the years, I owe a great deal of thanks. To my ancestors who have since passed away - you were forced through hours of phone conversations and countless hours of story telling with me - I can't wait to meet you again in Heaven. What a celebration that will be!!!
To those of you who wouldn't assist in my research because you thought I was "crazy and on a wild goose chase" - I TOLD YOU SO!!!!!!
To all the Clyburns from Nova Scotia and descendents everywhere, welcome to our family.
Keep breaking down those brick walls - you just never know when the right piece of information will come along!
In Gratitude and Thanks -
