Johnson and Rebecca's oldest daughter, Sarah T. Clay, married A. J. Gilliam.
They moved to Polk County, Oregon in 1847.
I've written a piece about this for the next *Pieces of Clay,* the
newsletter for the Clay Family Society.
You just never know where people are going to turn up.

Thank you for posting the information on the Clay family burial plot in
Platte County, Missouri. Yes, you helped someone. I research the CLAY
family in Missouri, mostly those in St. Francois County. I am always eager
to learn about another Eleazer Clay, and now we have one born 1839. The
Johnson and William Clay brothers mentioned in the book you saw are sons of
Jeremiah Walker Clay b.May 5 1765 Chesterfield Co. VA. His parents are
James Clay and Margaret Muse.
Janis H. in North Carolina

CLAY FAMILY BURIAL PLOT
Found in a book at the Mid-Continent Library, entitled Platte County Cemeteries. This book was written between 1945-1960 when it was published. Can’t promise the information is still correct…
Located about 4 ½ miles southy of Dearborn , MO. , and about 8 miles north of Platte City, MO., the two Clay brothers, Johnson & William, whose wives were sisters, camped on Plattsburg Prairie with their families. One had 7 children, the other, 6, awaiting the day in Feb, 1837 that they might enter the Platte purchase. They settled on farms about a mile apart on the old turnpike. William’s farm is now owned by Elmer Blankenship and the 120 year old house, later weather-boarded over, was torn down in Feb. 1957, and a new home built on the same site.
Johnson Clay’s farm, a mile east, is now owned by John Richard Owens. The Clay burying ground is located on this farm. A handsome gray granite stone marker indicates the graves of the two brothers and their wives. There are the names found on the stones in Oct. 1958.

I hope this helps someone out there.
Isn't it odd that we're not concerned about the slaughter of millions of babies so long as we keep all those serial killers on death row alive?
