Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb
The Historic Paris-Bourbon County Society has received $4000 from
descendants of Dr. Henry Clay III and Rachel Povall Clay, and others for the
restoration of Clay Bedford Family Cemetery located on Escondida Road in
Bourbon County. Repair and restoration work will start July 1, 2004.
Additional funds are needed to match the $5200 grant from the State of
Kentucky. Interested donors may contact me for the Historic Paris address.
Thank you, Connie Collins
AN UPDATE ON THE PREVIOUS MESSAGE,
After speaking to Mr. Sanders, he would like those that want his books
to reserve them as he only has about 20 left in his office. If you do reserve
them and are not planning to attend the Clay Family Gathering, he will ship
them to you for an additional $2.50. Those that are attending the gathering can
pick them up there and pay for them there but please reserve them ahead of
time. That way he makes sure that they are available to you. PLEASE let me know
if you do want to reserve a copy. The original message is below. Thanks to
the administrator for allowing us to send this message to the Clay lis.
Thanks, Nancy

I hope someone can kindly help set me straight.
I have gone round and round in circles and am still confused.
Betsy Clay (b. 1752) who married Alexander Murray....is she the dau. of Rev.
Charles Clay? And, most importantly, is this the SAME Betsy Clay who's
dau., Isabella Campbell Murray (b. 1789 Nova Scotia), married Thomas G.
Thaxton (d. 1866, Henry County, Ga.)?
Any help or clues will be appreciated!
Thank you,
Glenna Kinard

I had heard that a newsletter was being mailed out last week for the Clay
Society? I have not received mine? Has anyone gotten one or did I
misunderstand?
Thanks!

Mr. William Sanders will be at The Clay Family Gathering in Beckley on Friday
along with Dr. Randy Winfrey. He is planning on bringing all his books to
allow people to purchase them. I'm sure he would be more than happy to autograph
them too. He is also going to be a speaker on Saturday morning. He can bring
more books then if he runs out on Friday. The Clay Family Society has been
invited to participate in the dedication ceremonies to be held Saturday at approx.
11:00 AM at Clay Memorial Park. Mr. Robert Young Clay will represent our
group in giving a short speech. We are also planning on laying a wreath there in
honor of Mitchell and Phoebe Belcher Clay.
Hope to see a lot of you there.
