Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb

To All Listers,
As of 27 Dec 2004 the list will be prefaced with CLAY due to the ungodly
amount of
SPAM being received. Please make a note of this and send e-mails
accordingly.
May you all have a joyous, prosperous New Year filled with His blessings.
Thank you,
Chas. Clay, Admin.
Is it possible for the list administrator of the Clay list to please add the
word CLAY to each outgoing email that is posted to that group?
I am having a tremendously hard time with SPAM. Those incoming emails with
the surname/geographical name of the list in the subject line let me know
at a glance that they are proper emails. Those w/o the name (such as Clay)
are suspect and I am likely to inadvertently delete them.
Having CLAY automatically in the subject line would be a big help.
I know I'm not alone with the huge spam problem. I was out of town for four
days and when I came home there were 229 emails.......100 of which were
spam! Anything you can do to help will be appreciated.
Thanks and happy holiday.

Greetings!
Is there any way your direct requests for the newsletter can go righ to
that person? I awoke to find my mailbox filled with 20+ e-mails all asking one
person for a newsletter. I am not trying to sound like a scrooge, I'm simply
asking if there is a way??? Thanks and Merry Christmas.
