Hi Gynger - I received this message today, which appears to be only part.
Since I've been having mucho trouble with my computer, I wondered if maybe
I lost part of the note. Thanks, Diane Bingham

I'm new to this list, and researching the MELL surname PA.
I was looking around the other day on rootsweb, and found an Elizabeth
MELL who married a Henry CLAY in Cumberland Co., and moved to Ohio.
CLAY is another name that appears on Jacob LEHMAN's will. Matthew CLAY
was
one of Jacob LEHMAN's sons in law and named as coexecutor, and one of
the witnesses was Philip CLAY. Jacob LEHMAN's daughter Eve married an
Adam MELL.
Also, in the 1850 Census for Frankford Twp., Cumberland county PA there
is the following listing:
CLAY, John, 38, farmer
Susanna, 41 (Susanna MELL)
Mary, 11
Christiana, 10,
Mathias, 8,( he married Mary Jane Donnelly, 10 Nov 1864)
Rachael, 7
John, 5
Susan, 3
Jacob, 1
MELL, Jane 77
I believe Jane MELL was the mother of Susanna CLAY, wife of John CLAY.
Does anybody know this family, and possibly who was Jane's husband,
father of Susanna MELL? Do you know the connection between these MELLs
and CLAY's?
