Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb
I am not sure how to do this but I would like to be
taken on the list for the time being.

Does anyone know this Hugh Jordan? is he the one who married sally Chapman?
>>Date: 11/23/01 From: echase
The Hugh Jordan Wilburn who married Nancy Jane Ballard is my great
grandfather. My records show that he was married at least 4 times. Miss
Ballard is mentioned in his divorce records. He is the son of Lewis Wilburn
and Mary Bratton Jordan. His grandfather was Hugh Jordan (Mary B's father).
He was born in Giles Co. VA. His last wife was Isabella Jane Holliday. They
were married in Chattanooga, TN <<
I have these children for Hugh and Sally, is Mary one also, and does anyone
have dates?

Anyone recognize??
Lewis A Clay had land in Tarrant County TX, his land patent is dated 27
Nov 1857. He had 320 acres in north eastern Tarrant County TX.
I have been looking for the Clay family, who married a Mary Thornhill.
The interesting thing is that Mary's parents James Thornhill are just a
few houses away from this Lewis A Clay in Tarrant County.
Mary would die 9 days after giving birth to a son, William Clay. Mary
died Oct 6, 1876. I have alway thought in Bosque or McLennan County Tx
but could be wront about that.
Mary would have been born abt 1857. So if she were connected to the
Lewis A Clay it would most likely be his son. Mary's parents were in
Tarrant county 1869 - 73 so Mary would have been about 16 in 1873.
Would like to chat with anyone who recognizes.

I was recently sent information of a wedding ceremony that was performed in
Pettus, Raleigh County, WV on 24 December 1924 by a Reverend Jordan Peters.
The wedding participants were Icie Marie Williams & Dewey Pettrey. But the
researcher had a question that I could not answer when she asked, "Who is
Reverend Jordan Peters?"
I know of four men named Jordan Peters. First, there is my ggg grandfather
Jordan Peters. But we can quickly scratch him off the list since he died,
before the wedding, in 1890 in Patrick County, VA.
Another Jordan Peters was my great uncle Jordan "Don" Peters, brother to my
grandfather. This Jordan was born circa 1901 & therefore his age in 1924
would make him a possibility. But I doubt that he is the Reverend either. I
believe that if he would have been a minister, I would have heard some
inkling of this fact because of his closeness to my grandfather.
The third Jordan Peters I have in my files is a Jordan Peters that was born
in about 1872 & was married first to Macy Jane Webb & later to Martha Webb.
He would have been about 52 at the time of the Williams/Pettry wedding.
The final Jordan Peters was born 4 May 1868 to Henry T. Peters & Rebecca
Clay. The couple was wed on 2 February 1847 in Fayette County, VA/WV. This
Jordan would have been 56 at the time of the Williams/Pettry wedding.
Does anyone have any information on the Reverend Jordan Peters? Thank you in
advance for any information or guidance. I look forward to reading you
E-mails.
Sincerely,
Mike Peters

>From what I can gather Johan Nicholas Klee and Lisa Margaret Staudt son John moved to Cumberland County, PA.
He can be found on land deeds with sister and brother in-law Maria Katharina who married John Rhiel. There was also a Mathias- listed in one census possibly younger brother, I know Mathias later moved to Ohio. John had
the following children: Catherine, George, Jacob, Mathias, John, Philip, Nicholas, Henry, and Christian.
On land deeds his wife is listed as Sophia - family lore has her name as Catharine Stoudt or Staudt-
Does any one have further knowledge of this family and what John's wife name was? Was he married
twice? We're estimating he was born around 1760's. Does anyone have an info on this family? Thanks,
Deanna Moehle
