Mary Ann, what do you know about the Estes Notes on your list. When my grandfather died in 1934, my grandmother married an Estes. It must have been before I was born in '38. I have never found out anything about this guy. Johnnie

My Claxton line is listed as a part of my main family tree, "My Howie and Collins Family Tree". My great grandfather's eldest sister, Jane Howie married first Ownbey Selph, then married Isaac Claxton. So she would have been Wilson's step mother. Jane's daughter, Mary Ann E. Selph married William L. Claxton, a son of Isaac. They had two sons before he was killed in the war. Their children went to Texas and Wyoming.

Wilson Claxton was probably the son of Solomon Claxton. I put a reply on this thread with several links. The link to our main research project page is http://stonehunter.info.
At that link, you can click on "Claxton/Clarkson Family Research Page" and then on the research page you can click on the "Alphabetical List of Claxtons/Clarksons with TN Roots" where you will find a link to a narrative, a descendancy chart, and a map on Solomon and, toward the bottom of the page, a link directly to the section of Solomon's narrative which deals with Wilson.

Wilson Claxton was the son of Solomon Claxton. For research on these and other related Claxtons, you can go to the following link.
http://stonehunter.info
At that link, click on "Claxton/Clarkson Family Research Page" and then on the Family Research Page, click on "Alphabetical List of Claxtons/Clarksons with TN Roots."
At that link there are two sets of links: There is an alphabetical list of Claxton progenitors whose lines are currently being researched by several Claxton researchers; in that alpha list you will see links to a narrative about each, a descendancy chart listing known descendants of each progenitor, and a map showing where the progenitor was and where the main descendant lines went. Below the alpha list there is a list of the "main characters" to be found within those progenitor lines. If you look next to the bottom of the list, you will see Wilson there with a link to his information in the Solomon narrative.

That is the most information I have ever received on the Claxtons'. Thank you so much. My mother was Nathelee Claxton, but she was born in Texas in 1912. There were Claxton's who lived around the Colorado City, Texas, area and several of this bunch married several of the Lankfords' there.

He may be a descendant from one of the Claxton's that lived in the next county west of Parker County. I am interested in them, and am still trying to learn more about that family.

I believe that Wilson may have been a son of Issac Claxton of Giles County, Tennessee and his first wife Ann. His son, William, married his step sister, Mary Ann E. Selph. They had two sons before he was killed in the war. She married a Shadden and moved to Fannin County, Texas.
