There is always a Claxton reunion of GA and SC Claxtons the first Sunday in May in Kite, GA. There are descendants of Henry and Fannie Jordan Claxton who lived in Fluvanna, VA before moving to Edgefield County, SC.

I'm trying to find the parents of my gggrandmother Sarah Claxton, 1813-1885. She was buried at Phillipi Baptist Church next to her son, Lewis Van Buren Claxton, 1840-1917.The father of her children was Wilson Lee Coleman. Her parents may have been Henry and Fannie Claxton, but she isn't listed anywhere as their daughter.
Any help would be appreciated.

The following message is from my cousin Tommy Claxton, who, along with his wife Mary Ann will be visiting the family reunions and talking about our DNA project. We are co-administrators of the DNA project. If you get the opportunity to drop by and visit with them, please do. If you are a Claxton or Clarkson male and haven't yet DNA tested, please consider it. We are still piecing together the various families. You can reach Tommy and Mary Ann at stonehuntr(a)yahoo.com.
Hi everyone,
For some of you it has been a long time since we have communicated. If you got more than one copy of this e-mail it is because you are on more than one of my e-mail lists I have sent this email out to several people under a blind carbon copy to secure everyone's privacy.
There are 2 different Claxton reunions happening this summer. My wife and I are presenting all of our Claxton family research and giving a summary of the DNA results at both of these reunions this summer. Everyone is invited to attend either one or both of these reunions. I know of at least 4 people that plan to be at both reunions.
If any of you are in the process of doing a DNA test through FTDNA.com, it would be great to have your DNA results back in time to report the results at the reunion. It takes at least 6 to 8 weeks to get the results back from the lab.
One reunion is in Broken Arrow, OK outside of Tulsa, OK on Saturday June 12, 2010. It is generally a potluck meeting. I expect there to be at least 4 or more cousins of the newly researched Isaac Claxton family of TN, AL, TX and WY in attendance at this reunion and maybe others. There will be at least 4 or more totally separate Claxton lines represented at this reunion.
The second reunion will be held in Athens, AL on the next weekend Saturday June 19, 2010. As this will be one of the first meetings of this group I expect it to be mostly of the Isaac Claxton AL branch of our cousins. This will be the first time for many of these people to actually hear about their family history.
The details on these reunions will be out later. If you are interested let me know and I will be sure to send you the information when it is announced. For now you can pencil in Saturday June 12, 2010 and Saturday June 19, 2010 on your calendars.
A lot of research and DNA has happened since the last reunion I attended. If you are interested you may visit our genealogy web page at this link: Claxton Web Page. There are several Claxton/Clarkson lines represented here. It is constantly updated and by reunion time there should be several other lines posted as we do not have all of our research online as of today.
Hope this finds everyone well and hope to see you at a reunion,
Tommy Claxton
