I wanted to do two things relative to DNA and genealogy.
First, there has been a lot of recent interest in the Claxtons in the British Isles. I want to make sure all of you know that we do have a Bolton DNA project at www.familytreedna.com/public/clarkson-claxton where Claxton men can test to see which Claxton families they match.
Second, I want to let you know about a new autosomal DNA testing opportunity. You can see the info here on the blog:

I'm so pleased to see the research on the Claxton surname overseas and I surely hope that you'll also take advantage of the Claxton DNA project at www.familytreedna.com/public/Clarkson-Claxton/. There are 45 people who have tested and there several family lines represented. This is a great help in both finding the family you belong to and also eliminating the ones that you don't. I'm hoping for more people to test overseas...after all, that is where the American families all came from.
If you have questions, please feel free to ask. I'm one of the volunteer administrators of the project and also a Claxton descendant.

My grandfather was named Buford Claxton, I'm not sure if he knew an Edna, though.

I am attempting to find Williams father, some researchers name a Joseph Claxton (1734-1805)& Amealia Cutty (1741- 1826)as his parents ,
I can find no factual evidence of this being the case , no one seems to have a valid source listed , if any one can enlighten me I would delighted to here from them
