Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb

Thank you for the information. I have just begun to research the family so I appreciate whatever information you have available. I located information online that was taken from the Bedford County, Tennessee Family History Book, which indicates David was married to Rosanah Moore and Eliza Taylor. Again, thank you for your help.

Perhaps you already know that David Claxton was sent to prison for counterfeiting (about 1831). While there, he was interviewed by the warden, as were all the prisoners, and answered questions about his family. He told the warden that his mother and father, six brothers and one sister were living in Bedford County, TN. The way I read the census, the only man available to be David's father was John Claxton. John was probably born about 1775 and probably died in the late 1830s. We don't know John's wife's name, but two of her sons each named a daughter Sophie.
