Looking for info on Claxton's and Benjamin's from the Delhi, Louisiana and surrounding area. I have just started research for my friend. Grandmother is Jessie Claxton who married Elbert Benjamin; Elbert's father Alonzo Benjamin b-27 Aug 1881; Jessie Claxton's father James Claxton b- Apr 1887, James's father Pleasant Claxton. She was also told a story about a brother of Pleasant's who was hung. You can E-mail me at catlvr1(a)comcast.net
I have been overlooking Claxtons and Clarkstons for years, because I did not
know how (if?) they were connected and placed no value on a "dab of data here
and a dab of data there." Now that I have seen a pattern I have gone back to
look at other sources.
