I'm sorry, but I haven't come across any of the names you mentioned. The line I am tracing leads me back to a William B. Sanders who married Ellen Sanders. I don't know if they were from Tennessee or Illinois, but it seems their son, Jeremiah, was in Illinois, married to Charlotte Yancey by the early 1840's when they had 3 childeren: Thomas J. Claxton,
John D. Claxton, and William R. Claxton.

sometime, family tales say she was American Indian, and if that was true
that maybe where the problem lies in trying to find info, but like I said
it's a family tale, they look Indian, but that doesn't prove anything,
anyway I do thank you for your time in looking and writing me back, keep me

There is a record in Montgomery Co, TN where Ellen's son Jeremiah is bound out. Then there is a Jeremiah Claxton in Marshall Co, TN, around Farmington, on the Bedford Co, TN border. And there is an Alexander Hobby in Marshall Co, TN who leaves something to his Claxton grandchildren. I have always wanted to put all this together, but it does not quite seem to fit. Also, David Claxton of Bedford Co, TN lived in southern Illinois in the 1820/1830 time period. I would like to know more about William B. Claxton and Ellen Sanders and their son Jeremiah. Please e-mail me at Carolyngenealogy(a)aol.com or sign on the Claxton list. My husband is descended from Stephen Sanders b. abt 1825 Bedford Co, TN and his wife Elizabeth Claxton,

I have hit a dead end tracing my name back to a William B. Claxton who was married to an Ellen Sanders. It seems they had a son named Jeremiah about 1816. Jeremiah had a son named John D. Claxton who would be my gr gr grandfather.

I am working on a hunch that grandfather [WP below] was named William Patton for his grandfather??? WP. The only WP that I can find happens to be in Hopkins Co., KY, which is where he was born. Everything fits nicely - see below. This is census information only - I don't have birth, marriage or death info on anyone. If you have ANY information on this family, please let me know. I am not sure if they are truly connected but so far it looks good. Thanks - BJ
