Hi! Saw your post, and about Claxtons in West Indies.
I learned there is a village called "Claxton Bay" in the West Indies. Do you know how I could find out more information of this, like how it got it's name, and "Claxtons" coming to that area.
I really don't have any information to connect me here, but I am interested in learning anything I can on the Claxtons.
My great-great grandfather is Albert Claxton who was born in Roanoke Co., VA about 1813. I am trying to learn who is parents were. It seems I might be getting close to learning where my "Claxtons" came from, from overseas. I know there is a village called "Claxton" in England, but don't know if mine came from there. Would be interested in hearing about your "Claxton" interest.
Please e-mail me at vclaxton(a)maplenet.net.

Thank you for your interest in Nancy Claxton of Franklin Co. TN 1830. I am searching for the parents of Avery Claxton who appears on the Bedford Co. TN census in 1850. He was born ca 1815 TN. Nancy is one of those who could possibly be a parent as she has two males b.1815-1820 living in her household in 1830. I have no other information concerning this Nancy or the two males living with her. I do not know if she lived in KY previous to this census. I know that a Nancy Claxton married John Bachelor in Wilson Co. TN ca 1813 and I think there was another Nancy Claxton of Woodford Co. Ky. I do not think that either of these are the same person as the Nancy of Franklin Co TN 1830. Any information that you have would be most welcome. I would like to know more about your KY Claxton line as I also have connections to Claxtons in Caldwell, Hopkins, and Christian Cos. Ky.. ..Thelma Phillips

I may have a little information on a Nancy Claxton in KY. I don't know if this is a possibility or not. I do know a little about boundry line changes, so it's possible it could have been called TN previously.
VA territory was a large area, and history tells me then TN was formed from it, and KY. I don't have the years at my fingertips at the moment. But if you are interested please e-mail me at: vclaxton(a)maplenet.net and I would be happy to share what I know.
I do not know that I am related yet to this one, but have been searching Claxtons from KY looking for clues. If I have the right Nancy, I do know how to contact a man living in Canada who I believe is related. I have been tracing his line a little to see if there is a connection between us but so far have found nothing.

Marilyn Shirley if you see this message please e-mail me.
If you haven't already found the information you desire, I think I can help you. I have been tracing a Elizabeth Claxton married to a Fielding Lewis who came from KY to IN. If I have the right one, I know where the cemetery and grave is. At the present time, I don't have my information at my fingertips, But if you e-mail me and desire what I have, I will share with you. I have traced some on this and visited the cemetery
here in Indiana. However, I do not know if I am related yet, but I do know a person who is living in Canada. I may put you in touch with him.
My greatgrandfather is Elias Benjamin Claxton born in Roanoke Co. VA. His father is Albert Claxton married Eliza E. Tinsley in Botetourt Co. VA, 5 Jan 1837. Albert born about 1817. I am looking for who his parents are? His wife's father was William Tinsley.
Albert and Eliza had four children: Elias Benjamin (my greatgrandfather) born 18 Dec 1837 in Roanoke Co. VA, Martha A. born about 1841 in VA, Mary Elizabeth born about 1843 VA. I have seen census these two girls could have been born in OH, but I have reason to believe that is in error. There is another daughter Eliza E. born 1849 in Miami Co., IN.
Would appreciate help from any one who has any more information and would share more of my information to anyone who is interested? Please e-mail me at
vclaxton(a)maplenet.net.
Re: Bugbear Virus
The Bugbear virus is easy to spot. The mail will be from someone you know
and the subject will probably interest you, but if the download is exactly
50,688 bytes it is more than likely carrying Bugbear. Delete the
message...and don't forget to delete it in your filing cabinet as
well.....Symantec and McAffee have protection and clean up tools....The
people who send us these nasty things should be hung!!....Thelma Phillips
I am not for certain from which it came, but I had a virus after checking
mail today. It was Worm_Bugbear.a it was located in C:\windows\application
Data\IM\Identities(231078E0-1...Worm_Bugbear.a
I have Pc-Trend Cillin 2000. It was not able to clean. Please altert others,
and check systems. Thank you.
