Hi!
My name is Melvina Arnett. I am a CLAXTON descendant and just now subscribing to the Claxton mailing list. Sorry it has taken me so long.
I am descended from Emily A. Claxton (my great-grandmother), daughter of James & Temperance Claxton. Carolyn Smotherman and I have corresponded for a number of years and I know that she is really working hard to prove this CLAXTON line. I believe she is on the right track in reference to our James Claxton being the son of old John Claxton instead of James Claxton, as was first thought. Thanks for your hard work Carolyn! I have nothing new to add at this time, but did want to refer you to an outline of my CLAXTON database located at:
http://www.familytreemaker.com/users/a/r/n/Melvina-B-Arnett/index.html
There are also a couple of Claxton pictures at this location. I will be anxiously awaiting in new information.

Subject: Edward William Paefrey CLAXTON.
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii"; format=flowed
George John CLAXTON, 26Feb1837/38, Swaffham, Norfolk, E.A., England married
Emily Elizabeth Parfrey, born ?, place?, marriage date ?. Their son was
Edward William Parfrey CLAXTON.
I am still having a problem finding Edward William Parfrey CLAXTON, born
1857, Swaffham or Whiten, Norfolk, EA,
England.
I believe the spelling might have been incorrectly indicated as Paefrey;
and it might rather be, " Parfrey." I was looking up letters to verify the
spelling, but I have not yet been able to find them. But, this spelling
makes sense for Norfolk County, E.A., England. It's amazing how data
vanishes and reappears around here!
I am looking for a marriage and death dates.
Of course, any connections to him would be most welcome.
I am not sure you can help me, but I wanted to ask again.
Sorry for the error in the spelling of his name. . .
Thanks,
Howard
