If you'll run a search through Rootsweb Meta search, you'll find an Albert
L Claxton born 6 Mar 1898 (place not listed) who died 20 Feb 1966 in Solano
Co, CA. His mother's maiden name was listed as ELLIS.

The Claxtons were well known for using nicknames or middle names, especially
the TN>TX lines.

My hard drive crashed and I have lost your e-mail addresses. Could you
please send them to me?
Thank you,
Carolyn Smotherman
I am a Claxton descendant and have accumulated census record information on
many CLAXTON families. I am willing to share this information on an
individual basis with other Claxton descendants. This information includes
Claxtons from the 1820 through the 1880 Censuses in TN; and, AR from 1860
through 1900.
I do not have the actual Census pages, but do have the Census information
from these pages, Soundex, and Census books including family members, ages,
and place of birth. My intention was to collect all Claxtons, but could
have overlooked some.
Please be specific and supply as much information on your Claxton family
request as you can, such as name, age, and county if known. As you probably
know many Claxton families passed given names on and then used nicknames to
keep track of them all.

Hi, Pam!
It is good to hear from you. I am not sure there is anyone who is positive
who were the parents of Hiram Madison Claxton and James A. Claxton. For a
while I thought it was Hiram Claxton of Lincoln Co, TN, but he seems to have
a son named James born in 1844. Unless that is a grandson, then that will
not work out.
Recently I was told their parents were likely James Claxton and Polly Martin.
So far i have not seen anything to indicate this is not true.

I CAN'T go back past Hiram and James, but I CAN go forward with many more
