I was reading some of your information and see that you show Josiah Classon married to Charlotte Lovely (you spelled it Looely) I would love to have some documentation of that. Could you tell me how you got it? It also appears that they were divorced, though I am having a hard time getting the full transcript of the court record. Also, James was married to Kate (or Catherine Baker). Julia was actually Kate's mother.
Julia was also sister to Charlotte Lovely. I was very happy to see someone who was working on my folks. It doesn't happen too often!
Sincerely,
Randy Eileen Nelson

Hello,
I am directly related to Andrew Hoover and therefore my marriage to the Bulla's. I live in Richmond, Wayne Co., IN. The Hoover-Bulla cemetery is a private cemetery here in town. To be buried there you must be related to either the Hoover's or the Bulla's. There are 4 Clawson's there: Caroline, Abner, Elizabeth (White), and Rebecca. I would love to exchange data with any of you. If I can assist with any records or pictures from here in Wayne Co., please let me know. desloan(a)aol.com
Mary Ann Brown who married Mahlon Clawson is my third Great- Aunt. I have a lot of information on the Brown's and Hoover's.
Thanks,
Dave Sloan

I believe you will find that it was 2 Lampton girls who named their sons Pleasant. Patsy Lampton, mother of Pleasant Clawson and Jane Lampton, mother of Pleasant and Samuel L Clemens. Mark Twain wrote a lot about the Lamptons and their early claim to English nobility.
And, yes many of the Clawsons did follow Quaker migrations and married Quaker girls. That is the case of Thomas Clawson who married Elizabeth Wilson. I believe that he is Pleasant's grandfather.
Furthermore, the Wilson family came from the very same Friends Meeting in Pennsylvania as the Clarks connected with the Josiah of this thread.

I just now noticed your post. I'm sorry but I can't help much with your question about Pleasant Clawson. My Clawsons migrated from Guilford County, North Carolina. They were pioneers to Indiana at around 1800 to the now city of Richmond, Indiana. My direct ancestors were Josiah Clawson and Rebecca Clark Clawson. they were Quakers. Abner Clawson was their son and my gggg-grandfather. Mahlon Clawson was his brother. I did hear that Rebecca Clark Clawson lived in her elder years perhaps with relatives in Butler County, Ohio so I believe that many Clawsons from Richmond and Butler County, Ohio maybe related. Unfortunately, I this all I know. Good luck with your search.
