Searching for Mahlon Clawson who married Rebecca Clark. I believe they were from North Carolina. Children may have been Mahlon and Abner Clawson who moved to Indiana. Any clues would be appreciated.

Well, I found the DNA report that I heard about. It
turns out Garret and Peter have William's DNA. This
is the first of the New Jersey Clawsons to use the
Clawson spelling. Almost all the Ohio Clawsons have his DNA.
As for John there is good evidence we are from him.
We will see.
Also, it apperars that Thomas and Josiah Clawson
who settled in Allen County had a brother named John.
Some of the old family historians thought this might be the line for the other John in Preble County Ohio.
Cornelius's son John was in Pennsyvania.

In 9184, I took my grandmother Georgia Loy Quinn out of a nursing home. She spent her last 5 years with me. I got to hear many of the old stories. We descend from Peter Clawson and Sarah Iford. She told me she was uncertain about the Peter from Shelby County Ohio being Peter's father because there was more than one Peter Clawson in that area.
When she died, the FCC gave me 3 radio station licenses . I have been running radio stations ever since.
My first radio station was in Attica Indiana. It was there that I met many of my Clawson cousins and they were wonderful people. The first time I heard the Garret legend was from Mariah Clawson age 93 of Rob Roy. She said Garret was Dutch. He fought in the Revolution. He brought his family to Attica. He died there.
Fidella Clawson Loy said, this Garret was Peter's brother. He fought in the Revolution. Parents were John Clawson and Mary Wheatley..
Now I understand DNA has linked our Peter's brother to Cornelius Clawson & Martha Smalley. It appears that Elizabeth Clawson a daughter of Cornelius's son Andrew went to the same area of Indiana as well.
Fidella Clawson was born before the Civil War. She knew her grandfather Peter Clawson. I suspect he told her the name of his parents.
Cornelius Clawson had a son named John. He is named in his will.
A historical account of John Clawson says he had a son named Peter.
How does this add up? Looks like we are from a lost line of Cornelius. Looks like we are from the other John. Looks like our Peter's brother Garret may have become one with the legend of a cousin or ancestor from long before.

My ancestor Abraham Clawson appears in the early settlers census and in US censuses through 1820. His daughter Catherine who married James S. Love is my direct line through her elder daughter also named Catherine who married John Faust Ford in Sumter County AL. James Love died in a wood cutting accident in 1829 and Catherine remarried in 1833, this time to Abraham Jones.
If you're researching this Clawson line or have any info on Abraham Clawson and his other children, spouse, or where he came from, please contact me.
