WOW - thank you so much for all the great information. I was getting my information from a family history written by Calla (Garrigan) Olson a daughter of Carlinda Classen/Clawsen Garrigan.
It is so confusing, I have visited the grave of Flora (Gray) Classen and Andrew D. Classen in Manitowoc Wisconsins Evergreen Cemetary. They are in the Garrigan Plat. Buried with Carlinda (Classen) Garrigan - Phillip Garrigan, her husband, Josephine, and John. The stones for Flora and Andrew say Mama and Papa - yet Andrew died four years before Calinda's birth. Another sister Carlotta Classen also born long after Andrew's death. Do you have anything about them?
PLEASE=I haven't been around for a long while but since you have so much information=could you please see if you have anything on Mercey Clawson b. 1819, Andrew b.1808, Frederick b. about 1800, and Josiah born also during that time period. Also the Josiah born 1770 in New Jersey and in Ohio with the rest of these people. I have placed about 1300 names in there proper order but these 5 just hang out there. I had to post all of these families and Will to eliminate all the mix-up with Clawsons/Closson etc. Please---Please--- I beg you to tell me something about this group that has documentation.

Since you wanted more about Sr. I will leave out Williams family and Josiah Jr. family. Elizabeth Hire married David Wherrit as Elizabeth Clawson. David was made guardian of William, Martha, Sarah, and Josiah. All Clawson's=children of Josiah Sr. and Elizabetyh. When William reached the age of maturity he went to his own home and took his sibblings with him. David and Elizabeth (Hire,Clawson) Wherrit had four more sons. FUNNY=David kept taking the children's inheritence while they were out of the home.
I have down 1300 Clawson/Closson names and about 30 of their Wills. Josiah (b.Jan. 13, 1770 in N.J.),Josiah (b.c.1800), Frederick (b.c. 1801), Mercy (b.Feb. 23, 1819 in Penn.), Andrew (b.1808 in Maryland) are the only Clawson's that I was unable to connect at this time. They are not the children of the older Josian b. in 1770 because I have all of his children and they do not appear. He could be their Uncle though. Need deperately to find the connection for these five. I still have a lot more t enter but this seems like the cross-over point. mjhaller00(a)hotmail.com
