WHAT HATH GOD ROUGHT!!!!
I mad a mistake...but only one. G. W. Brown is the name in the Bible as Mike Burk corrected. I guess I was tired. I checked it out the next day because it was nothering me. She was married to Frederick Clawson BEFORE Brown. The name is actually George Washington Brown, not William. I don't see why the 1860 census need to be sighted since no one disputes G.W. was their child. All I am saying is that G.W. Brown is named in the Bible. Born 1862.
HERE'S 'THE JOURNAL' and maybe everyone will see the problem. 1st. It's typed up by the woman in Colorado. WAIT. I think I'll put this out to everyone under the "Kiggins Journal". So I'll close this now and get on with "The Journal".

Owen Pleasant Clawson is the son of William Timothy "Roy" Clawson and Mildred Irene Hardwick.
I do not know the names of any of his children.
William Timothy Clawson's father was Joseph Haynes Clawson, who I have a bit of history on, as he is in my direct lineage. J.H. wife was Martha Benson.
I have more history going back further that J.H. Clawson if you are interested. My E-mail is amazgrac(a)bellsouth.net

In the first part. In the Family Bible of James Kiggins, on the second page of births. left colum, second entry as follows:
G W Brown
was born Oct
the 15th 1862
verbatem.
The death certificate of Rebecca Brown Kiggins, shows her date of birth as April 9, 1850. it should read 1851 as she lived 80 years, 9 month's, 25 days. and died on Feb. 2, 1932.
It lists her father as Wm Brown.
I have not seen anything "factual evidence" that list William Brown as George or Newton. It as far as I can see could be either or neither. to find the proof will probibly mean checking land records and court action in Allen County..
I and many others have heard for some time about the mysterious journal of the Kiggins. but for some reason no one other than Mary Haller has seen it.
Thomas Kiggins should have been born about 1770, and if so could have easily been the father of my ggggreat grandfather Jonathan 1792-1847 or an uncle.
Thomas's grandson said in his mysterious journal that he visited my gggreat grandfather's farm and family in the 1850's or 60's and the he basicaly thought they were not very smart and drank too much, that's his opinion.
While it is known that James Kiggins could not read or write, his children could. and my great grandfather John Frederick Kiggins and his brother had a reputation for drinking. I don't know if the same is true for James Kiggins. It could be a fact as the man with the mysterious journal wrote, or maybe he was anal retenitive.
Mostly what I want to put accross is if you are going to quote a document, do it exactly. and be willing to share it.

In reply to your message concerning William Newton Brown and Mary (Groves) Clawson Brown family, I believe the listing in the Kiggens Bible is incorrect. I have a death certificate of Andrew Brown, my grandfather and the son of William and Mary, which lists his father as William N. Brown and that William N. Brown was born in Ohio. Further I have the marriage license of Andrew and Sarah Harris which also lists the father of Andrew as Wm. N. Brown. I know there was two other sons born to William and Mary Brown and their names were George W. Brown and the other was William N. Brown. I have the register of both of their marriages which took place in Illinois. Both of these sons were born in Ohio and both died in Illinois. Also the 1860 census taken in Marion Twp. near Delphos Ohio shows that there was a William N, Brown and Mary Brown on line 161 of the report. Further, I remember discussing with my father about his grandfather and he told me that his grandfather was William Ne!
wton Brown. My father, the son of Andrew Brown, passed away several years ago. I do have a letter that was written by a friend of the Kiggens which did list a George William Brown as being married to Mary Boganwright and later to Mary Clawson. I did find several discrepancies in the letter and many facts which could not be verified. I know the Kiggens became guardians of some of the Brown children after the death of their parents. I would appreciate amy further info that you might have. My e-mail address is dbrown102(a)aol.com
Hello, wish I could help you with your request! Are there any listing in
your Bible for Charles Clayson/Clawson born about 13 Apr 1855/1857?
Thank you for your time and consideration regarding this inquiry.
