Hello,
Does anyone know Sarah CLAWSON (CLOSSON, CLAUSON) who was
born in VA 1784/85?
She married a Thomas ROTHWELL who was born in England abt 1765.
I don't know where they were married but they ended up in Fayette,
Seneca County, NY.
Would surely appreciate any leads.
Thank you!
Yours,
David, on the central coast, California, USA

Hi. I'm new to the list - just been collecting e-mails to read when things slow down at work. However, the name "Eli Clawson" just alerted me.
My maternal grandfather was "Charmie Eli Clawson" and lived all his life in Texas & Louisiana. However, I remember as a small child a carload of people pulling up in the driveway and speaking to me in a "foreign" language. I ran and hid. They came back later after asking at the local pak-a-sak where the Clawsons lived. They were from the foreign country of California and spent a week with my grandparents. I don't remember if I ever learned their "language" or not!
I am just beginning looking at Genealogy and will go home and pull out what little I have. Dad (grandfather Eli Clawson) had 8 brothers and sisters. I think his father's name was Elijah Clawson.
