Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb
Hi - as per suggested by the List administrator I will list my CLAWSON
line.
My g-grandmother's sister, Jane, was married to W.F. CLAWSON ("Frank").
They called her "Nanny". There were 2 children - Ralph CLAWSON & I
believe the girl was Ellen. When Jane died sometime before 1911 & after
my g-grandmother was divorced from my g-grandfather, she & Frank CLAWSON
were married. Her name was Martha Jane (maiden name STERN) WILT. Around
1920 they moved from Arrow Ave. (I think it was either in Noblesville or
Anderson, Indiana) to Leeburg, Oregon taking the 4 youngest children
(Ralph, Ellen & my g-mother's siblings - Nellie WILT & Clifford WILT).
Ralph married & had a son, ROBERT FRANKLIN CLAWSON.

Here it is again:
Seeking any information concerning the ancestry of Ann Clawson, b. ca.
1750's, who mar. 4 19 1772 prob. in
Middlesex Co., NJ, James Morford. Seven children: Rebecca mar. Jacob
Harris, James, Joseph mar. Elizabeth
Fell, William mar. Elizabeth Bently, Thomas mar. Rebecca Morford,
Elizabeth mar. Richard Morford, unk. child.
Some researchers give Mercer PA as the location of Ann's birth and
marriage. However, since Mercer County PA was not established until
1800, and the fact that James was born in Middlesex Co., NJ in 1753,
served in the NJ Militia in 1778, was in Fayette Co., PA by 1790, and
Mercer Co., PA by 1800, it seems unlikely that they were married in
Mercer, PA in 1772.

Dear Clawson List subscribers,
As you may have noticed, I recently adopted the Clawson Rootsweb list
and the GenConnect surname boards. Previously, these had been
administered by Rootsweb/GenConnect staffers.
Currently, there are 19 subscribers to CLAWSON-L and 3 subscribers to
CLAWSON-D.
It is a good idea to post your Clawson line or research specifics. This
will serve as an introduction and place your information in the
archives.
You should bookmark the "CLAWSON (C425) at ROOTSWEB" resources page and
use it as a base of operations for your Clawson research.
http://resources.rootsweb.com/surnames/c/l/CLAWSON/
If you have a Clawson-related web site on any of Rootsweb's servers, you
can add a link on the resources page at:
http://resources.rootsweb.com/~clusters/utilities/addsite.html
If you have a Clawson-related site which is not on a RootsWeb server,
you can add a *RootsLink* at:
http://resources.rootsweb.com/surnames/c/l/CLAWSON/#rootslink
In addition, there are various search engines on the resources page to
simplify your research. Rapid growth at Rootsweb has not been without
problems, however, and you are likely to run into this message
concerning search engines:
"Important System Notices
The Search Engine we are using has hit an
architectural limit and can no longer
index the entire site. Work is under way to break up
the search engine into per-list
databases."
There is a fairly new classified ad section with *For Sale* and *Wanted
to Buy* pages for genealogical books, services, materials, and
equipment.
Next is the GenConnect at RootsWeb section. In addition to links to
all seven Clawson surname boards, there is a *Global Search Engine* that
searches all of GenConnect. The query board is the only one for posting
questions. All others are data-only boards where you are encouraged to
post appropriate data. The *Bios* board is not only for biographical
sketches, but also for any biographical data and vital statistics for
which there is not a specific board. Here you can post birth, death,
and marriage data--unless the source is the vital records from a Bible.
The *Deeds* board is for any records related to the acquisition and sale
of real property.
It is important that copyrighted material not be posted without the
consent of the copyright holder. This is most likely only a concern for
obits and bios.
Lastly, on the resources page are the guestbook and event calendar.
If you have any trouble with the list or boards, let me know about it.
Best of luck searching for your Clawson ancestors.

I have extracted all Clawsons who are listed in the Civil War pension
index for the states of Pennsylvania, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Missouri,
Wisconsin, Minnesota, Michigan, and points west. These are only Clawsons
who filed for a pension (or their widow or minor) not those who served.
The index contains their name, the unit in which they served, and the
date on which they filed for a pension. In some cases it includes the
name of a widow or minor. In other cases it lists the state from which
the pension was filed. I'd be happy to e-mail a copy of this list to
anyone who requests it. Just e-mail me at JohnLaird9(a)aol.com and I'll
send it along. It's in text only format.

Hi - my g-grandmother, Martha Jane (STERN) WILT after a divorce from her
1st husband, Joe WILT, married her brother-in-law, W. Frank CLAWSON. -
this was sometme after 1907 - probably around 1915-1925. Frank CLAWSON
was married to Jane (I think it was Martha's sister) STERN. They had 2
children - Ralph CLAWSON - who was in the Navy & a daughter - believe her
name was Ellen. Ralph had a son. Robert Franklin CLAWSON. So my
grandmother, Vesta WILT & Ralph & his sister were cousins as well as
step-siblings. Am looking for any info on W.F. CLAWSON & "Nanny" CLAWSON
(what Jane was called). As well as the kids & their descendents. They all
came from the Noblesville, Indiana area & Frank & Martha moved to Oregon
after they were married because my g-mother's baby sister had asthma.
Thanks!
Wendy
