Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb

Anyone interested in the U.S. Department of State's "Report of the Death of an American Citizen" for Mr. John Clauss, please contact me so I can conduct research to locate the record. Mr. Clauss died in Cuba on August 1, 1920.

Thanks for your reply. I'm not aware of a Philip Nicholas Clauss in my family tree but you never know.
Here is what I do know:
Valentine Clauss b: 1820 Germany and his wife Catherine b: 1826 Germany had 3 children all born in Germany: Magdalena b:1853 , Juliana b:1867, and George Philip Clauss b:1859. George and his wife Mary had 2 children:
Theodore E. Clauss b:1881New York and my great grandmother, Eleonora Clauss b: 1883. I don't have any other info on the Clauss' in my line other than they all lived in the NYC area. Let me know if any of this matches your family tree!
