Some of you may have already seen this message through the Lehigh,PA mailing
list. I checked the website at e-Bay and no bids have been placed yet. I
do not have these names in my records, but one of you probably does. If you
purchase the book, would you be so kind as to share information from it with
the rest of us?

I came across this listing on ebay. I thought it might be of interest to
someone on the list.
1850's Family German Bible and Documents
An old German bible with " several documents of the life of the Clauser
(Klauser) family of Lehigh County, PA dating from 1849 to 1904.
...From 1849 is an illustrated page indicating that Cath. Anna Klauser was
confirmed into the Church (I think...) on March 25th. ***** From 1852 is a
blue page with the names "Matilda Clauser" and "Jonathan Clauser" and the
dates 1827 and 1852. I cannot read the handwriting beyond that. ***** From
1854 is a handwritten Notice To Amos Clauser regarding, it seems, the
transfer of "Farm Plantation and tract of Land with the appurtences" to Amos
Clauser from a Mr. Butz of Whitehall Township, Lehigh County. ***** From
1860, it appears to be an appeal from a John Nears to Amos Clauser to help
him put off the calling of a loan made by Amos's brother- (Lebenon Delong?)
and mother-in-law. ***** >From 1862 is a tax notice to Amos Clauser. 10
acres at $30 per acre, 1 cattle at $10, occupations at $75, and one pleasure
carriage. ***** From 1882 is the declaration of inherited goods from the
estate of Esther Clauser to Jonathan Clauser, who apparently tended to her
in her final sicknes!
s. Her other heirs sign and "seal" the acknowledgment that they will not
contest (Charles, Clinton, and Oscar Clauser & Ida and Adam Gensler). *****
>From 1895 is a document showing that Thomas F. Rohr (?) and Jonathan Clauser
are members of the Union Congregation and are entitled to Lot No. 323 in the
Union Cemetery. ***** From 1904 is the tax assessment from Lehigh County
Commissioners' Office. 21 acres of land at $58 per, 2 horses, 2 cattle, and
$1000 in "Bonds and Mortgages." *****

I have no connection to this sale or the seller, I am only interested in
seeing old family documents reunited with their families.

Dear Sandy,
Do you think that George is Philip Clauser's son? Daniel Kelchner who
married Catharine is listed in the 1820 census, Pg. 123, Norwegian,
Schuylkill, PA, they are living next to Philip who I believe to be her
father due to the ages.
On one of the Kelchner children baptized at Upper Bern they have the
sponsor
as Daniel Nies, do you suppose this was really Spies?
Have you tried to find the father of Philip Windbiegler? I believe that
Jacob Kelchner and wife, Elizabeth Windbiegler may have gone to Ohio
with
their children.
I think these names also in the Clauser family are too much of a
coincidence
to not be related somehow.
