I have Johann Jurg Klauser, born Feb. 21, 1754, died 1795, married to Susanne
Stapleton. The children I have, however, are William, Susan, Elizabeth and
John.
Hello all,
I am looking for information on Johann Georg Klauser. He married Susanne and they had the following children:
Maria Clauser
Johann George Clauser
Johann Edward Clauser
Johann Heinrich Clauser
Johann Jacob Clauser
Hannah Clauser
Peter Clauser
David Clauser.
Believe all were born in Berks Co., PA.
Johann Georg may have been the original immigrant of this family.
Is Johann Georg the same as Hans Georg? I don't know if Johan and Hans are used interchangeably.
Thank you,
Kristy

Dear "somehow, somewhere" Cousin Sandy :o) I hope I answered to the
Clauser-L correctly...if not, I'm sorry and terrible at this.
Hi Ned!
Did you try the Schuylkill Co. Historical Society? Maybe Daniel lived in
the area of Berks Co. where in 1811 became Schuylkill Co. (no, I'm not smart
or anything, got that information from a handwritten book one of my
ancestors wrote in 1933, see quote below, a Clauser married one of Simon's
granddaughters :o):
"I cannot trace the history of our family back further than to Grandfather
Simon Kremer and his wife Margaret Krammes, both of whom were born near the
time of the Revolutionary War and were among the pioneer settlers of what is
now Wayne Twp., Schuylkill Co.; but at that time a part of Berks Co., PA for
Schuylkill Co. was a part of Berks Co. until March 1, 1811, when seven
townships on the north side of the Blue Mountains, having a taxable
population of 1342 and two townships of Northampton Co. were formed into a
new county and called Schuylkill Co. and Orwigsburg became the first County
seat."
It's just a thought.
I sure wish I could go visiting historical societies...there has to be
someone in PA, in that area, who can do that for you.
Yours in the Search!
Lynn

Arliss' ancestor may descend from Bartli G. GLAUSER b1612abt in Bern who dies
14.2.1675 at age of 63 in Elsenz, Germany. In Neckarsteinach is a Johann Georg
Peter Clauser that marries Eva Elisabeth in this Reformed Parish and may be
Georg Peter Clauser b1724 in Menzingen, Germany. Johann Peter Clauser reported
he was born 1729 in Neckarsteinach of Reformed faith. We were in Neckarsteinach
last summer and inside the church after a small wedding and right across the
cobblestone street is the Catholic church and the Elsenz records reveal they do
intermarry. Research per families in ORTSSIPPENBUCH ELSENZ 1656-1925, by Klaus
Rossler. Families will be posted on my web page.

and some Clausers (http://members.aol.com/alicebeard/owasco.html). Her
reply is below.
