We are looking for the birth mother of my grandfather,
Nicolas Joseph Christensen.
We are hoping that there is someone out there who can help us locate my grandfathers birth mother, he was born on April 22, 1912 to Ann Christensen at St.Mary's home for women and infants in Green Bay Wisconsin. His name at birth was Nicolas Joseph Christensen we have no information on Ann Christensen
I.e.; date of birth or date of death or where she lived, only that the birth was at St.Mary's in Green Bay Wisconsin in 1912.
We do know that Nicolas was sent to or lived (with Ann possibly) at St Joseph's (some connection to St. Mary's) home until January 26, 1916 when he was adopted by Charles Benjamin Brown and Josephine (Colleur) Brown.
Charles was a tug boat captain and lived in Michigan. Nicolas's name was then changed to Raymond Nicholas Brown. The Brown's also adopted a little girl named Helen we have no birth day for her.
The Browns moved to Marquette Michigan and then on to Dafter Michigan.
My grandfather did receive a birth certificate from Wisconsin but the only names on it are the Browns. Also my grandfather did receive a letter when he was trying to enlist in the service in 1941 stating that he was adopted and born to Ann Christensen in 1912. Sister Gertrude was the writer of the letter confirming his birth mothers name.
We are praying for any information regarding St.Mary's, St. Joseph's or Ann Christensen from Green Bay Wisconsin in 1912.
Thank you
Dale Brown
