We have a connection! Is your grandmother Clara Clausen who was born about 1874, in Wisconsin with a sister Pauline Charlotte Clausen born 1877 in Wisconsin? And is her father Claus Christian Clausen (Klaussen)born 9 August 1848 in
Heimnæs, Korgen, Nordland, Norway?
If so, then your grandmother Clara is a 1st cousin to Ole Andreas Clausen, my step-grandfather. In the photo you refer to, Orpha & Irene are Ole's daughters from his 2nd marriage to my grandmother Mabel Folkestad. Orpha was born in 1922 and Irene in 1924. Irene has passed away, but Orpha is still living, quite close to me. She was 87 yrs in March/2009. Ole Clausen had a son and daughter with his 1st marriage to Julia Hoiem and his son Leonard Irving Clausen (91 yrs) lives about 100 miles from me.
I would love a copy of the photo. My email address is valhalla at telus dot net Do you know who Ann, Bob, C.O. are in the photo? I will be happy to share my Clausen family information with you. Look forward to hearing from you.
Kind regards,
Marnie Oliver Ingvaldson

I have a photograph from my grand-mother, Clara Clausen-Hunt that is labeled. O. Clausen Family-Ann Bob, C.O., Orpha and Irene.
Some of the photos say June 4, BC.
I suspect Ole and a Claus Clausen were relatives but I am not sure how they may have been related.
My great grandfather, Charles Clausen(Svendsen) and grandmother, Petrea Andreasen Clausen (Andersdatter)were both from Norway.
Would be glad to share the photo with you.

I'm really keen to find any current Danish descendants of my Clausens.
Earliest records we have are of Jens Clausen (b1766) & his wife, Elisabeth Olesdatter.
They had children:
Sophie, Henrich, Anne, Mariane, Margrethe Hedvig, Ole, another Margrethe Hedvig, Schov, Hans, Jensen, Laurentz, Maren, Klaus & Jens Those we have birthplaces for were all born Tolløse, Holbæk.
Hans Clausen was a master painter and married Ane Kirstine Pedersen in 1833 at St Nikolaj Kirke in Holbæk and they had children:
Hansen, Emilie Christiane Elisabeth, Mathilde Juliane Theodore (married Thomas Niclassen), Harald emil Christian Eli (married Maren Rasmussen), Carl Joachim Waldemar, Olga Emilie Alvida, Wiggo Alexi, Ferdinand Adolph Albert (emigrated to Liverpool & married Emily Beatrice Sedgwick), Holger Wilhelm & Holger Waldemar.
All the children were born in Holbæk. At some point between 1850 & 1866, the whole family appear to have moved to Copenhagen.
Ferdinand Adolph Albert Clausen was born 1849 and became a merchant seaman. He married Emily Beatrice Sedgwick in 1885, at which point he called himself Albert Clawson. He & his children generally used the Clausen spelling until WWI, when the Germanic appearance of the spelling prompted them to change it to Clawson, which is how the male lines now spell the name.
Ferdinand was my grandmother's grandfather.
Apart from the couple of marriages on Ferdinand's siblings, and a few children from those marriages (Niels Jacob Ferdinand Niclassen, Carl Valdemar Clausen, Hans Herman Wiggo Clausen, Karen Marie Clausen & Christine Clausen), I know nothing of any of the rest of his family from Denmark. I've found so few marriages amongst Ferdinand's many siblings, aunts & uncles... there must be information currently missing. Did they stay in Denmark? Did any emigrate & marry elsewhere?
I would love to find some Clausen cousins, particularly any who are still in Denmark and might have more anecdotal information on the earlier generations
Many thanks
Fi
