Marie Christine Wolff, daughter of Ferdinand N. (Hap) and Wilhelmina (Hillmer) Clausen, was born February 12, 1916 north of Ayrshire, Iowa. She attended country school near Marshall, Minnesota. Marie returned to this area from Minnesota in 1937.
On February 18, 1939 Marie was united in marriage to Carl Otto Wolff in Mallard, Iowa. Carl and Marie farmed near Terril until they purchased their farm south of Ayrshire. They resided on this farm until their retirement in 1975 when they moved into Emmetsburg. Marie was a devoted wife and homemaker. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Emmetsburg where she was active in church circle.
Marie died Tuesday, April 10, 2007 at Lakeside Lutheran Home in Emmetsburg, Iowa at the age of 91. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Carl on April 2, 1991; and an infant sister, Dorothy Clausen.
She is survived by three brothers, Paul Clausen and his wife, Caroline of Osseo, Minnesota, John Clausen and his wife, Virginia of Gainesville, Georgia, and Chick Clausen and his wife, Opaldine of Mallard, Iowa; a sister, Helen Crow and her husband, Charles of Whittier, California; several nieces and nephews; as well as other relatives and many friends.
