Herman Hoops came to America from Germany in 1884 with his step-father, Herman Clausen and his wife Elisabeth Margarethe Hoops. Herman was born out of wedlock and I would like to locate his real father. Herman married Elizabeth and they had 5 children: Margaret Elizabeth, Katherine Dora (Aunt Kitty), Richard H., William Herman (Uncle Billy) and Robert James (Uncle Bob). Any info on this family would be appreciated.

I am looking for information on the Herman Clausen family from Germany. The family came over in 1884 and settled in Skylight (Oldham Co.) KY. His wife was Margarethe Hoops, they were married in Germany. Margarethe had a son out of wedlock, his name was Herman Hoops. Herman was my great grandfather.
