Sorry Susan, I jumped the gun and thought that the Karl Klausen I found in the 1900 census was 76 years old. Wrong! He was born in 1876. That would make him 24 in 1900. Gloria

Susan,
I have corresponded with Ingar Clausen, and he has helped me a great deal. I saw your letters and want to tell you that I checked the websites Ingar gave you and they didn't work for me. The Norweigan census is in English if you click on the American flag at the bottom of the page. It is http://digitalarkivet.uib.no/
I found a Karl Klausen from Moss in the 1900 census, but I think he was 76 at the time. I also found him in the 1865 census when he was a boy. I wonder if this could be your grandfather? I think he would be to old. Ingar and are are related and have ggrandfathers that were brothers. Good Luck, Gloria

navigation officer. At age of 24 ( in 1900) he left Norway for
Melbourne.
Have a good luck in your further hunting.
