Dear Mr. Olson
Sognin must be a miscopy, as I do believe that the info you got should have been something like "Sogn in N" (Norway).
Sognefjorden is the longest fjord in Norway, almost cutting to half the width of southern N.
Sogn is a part of the SOGN OG FJORDANE county. It is one of the most sparesly populated parts of N and is a major part of western Norway.
My Clausen family came from Kragerø on the SE coast of N some 130 miles SW from Oslo.
I have only got one hit on my searching for descendants of my GGfathers brothers in USA.
Regards Ingar Clausen
In researching members of my family named Clausen I see a reference to birthplace as SOGN or SOGNIN in Norway. Can someone tell me what this means in english? Should there be additional place name information with this?
Looking for the Clausen family living mainly in Montana, some of them in Granite Falls, Minnesota
their children are: Mable, Ray, Beatrice, Florence, Gordon, and Sylvester. Looking for the parents of Charles and Emma
