Inside I found my Mom's Aunt Beatrice Hardman Walker had married a Mr._____CLAUS,
Together they had the following boys:
Stanley, Kenneth, Richard, Donald and John CLAUS.
She died in August 13, 1958.
I would like to find out Mr. Claus' name and dates of births for these boys and now their families.
The information booklet I have , has Beatrice's family history in it.
If anyone recognizes these boys and their Mother Beatrice, I would love to hear from you and share information.

your info is interesting. The August Claus that was an uncle, is the only son of William Claus who came from Germany as an 8 year old child. August had five sisters; my grandmother Elenora, Lillian, Hilda, Ruby, and Caroline who died when she was 12. They owned some land near a forest preserve near Crete and sold it when I was 12 or 13 years old. I lived with Grandmother during the school year. The female side was Mary Teske. I used to go with grandmother to care for the graves, but don't remember much.

I haven't heard it, as we only found August's wife Louisa this year, along with her parents. We've been so curious about it all, since it appears that August and John Krous (his brother in law) may have been in business together at Krous Park.
Please send the info to my e-mail at fiftyfivetbird(a)hotmail.com.
Thanks!!

Yes, they were first settled in Illinois when they first came to the states....near the Crete IL area...I am not sure where Princeton is..I am not sure of where Emma went after she got older...so the Kansas tie is a possibilty but I am not sure beyond that..I dont even know who she married, so maybe that could be her tie to your family members...alot of questions yet I guess.

Did your Emma have any ties to Kansas? I found the picture in an old Thiessen Album. The Thiessens and Weiche's lived in Marysville, Kansas. One picture was taken there and the other one was taken in Princeton, Illinois.

Cindy,
The Emma Claus you refer to is my wife's 1st cousin, once removed. She was born 29 Jan 1894 in Crete, Will Co, IL; married 02 May 1916 to George Otterbein in Horton Twsp, Osceola Co, IL; died in 1952 and is buried in the Ocheyedan Cemetery, Ocheyedan, Osceola Co, Iowa. She and George had 4 children -- one in Fulda, MN, but not sure about the others.
Would be willing to exchange information if you'd like. My wife is related on the Piepho side. Can take you back 13 generation before Emma Claus.

Emma Claus is the sister to my great great great grandfather. She was born about 1894. I believe near Crete ILL or Brunswick..but where she ended up after that, I am not sure. Her father was August Claus and her mother was Sophie Piepho (married in about 1889). She had 6 brothers and sisters that I know of, one of which was my great great grandfather, Herman Claus. They all arrived here from Germany, and settled in a very close knit german community. It is a very interesting story. I have done considerable amount of research for th e claus family...they were a family of weavers by trade, although Emma's grandfather, Cord Henrich was the only cabinet maker by trade, the others before him all being strong weavers in the German Culture. My ties to Emma are as follows...COrd Henrich had 11 children, one of which was my great great grandfather Herman, and another of which was August Claus birthdate, unknown but married in 1889. August had 6 children, one of which was !
Emma. Do you think this is the Emma you have in your picture? Feel free to contact me with any questions.

August is my great great great grandfather's brother. They were both the sons of Cord Henrich Claus of Germany. They came to Ill first, settling near Crete, temp. and then later settling in the Beecher, Cook area. My great great grandfather was Herman. My great grandmother was Erna Claus, married to Charles Schrieber. They had two sons, one of which was Robert Schrieber, who is my grandfather. Erna died about a year ago, at the age of 99, and Charles died in 1991. I live near the area in Hebron, In. There are many family burials in the Zion Church Cemetary near Brunswhick. I have much claus family information, including some information on how they arrived to America. It is a very interesting story if you have not heard it. Feel free to contact me if you would like to share information.

I have a picture of Emma Claus one taken in Marysville, Kansas the other one taken in Princeton, Illinois. In the years of about 1870 to 1900. She looks to be about 18 years old. I would like to know the connection to the Thiessen-Weiche families of Marysville, Kansas. I would also give the picture to the family if we can prove the picure is in the right family.
